TYPES OF PEARLS : Pearls are of various types – Natural Salt Water, Natural Fresh Water Pearls, Cultured Pearls, South Sea Pearls. Real Pearls exist in varieties of shapes and sizes like Rice, Seed, Flower, Round and Oval Baroque.

DIFFERENCE BETWEEN IMITATION AND NATURAL PEARLS
NATURAL PEARLS : Have weight and are formed in layer like onion having calcium carbonate and other organic materials in them and they do not melt on heating
IMITATION PEARLS : Are very light weight and are machine made by using plastic and fibre. They have only single layer of emulsion coating which comes off on scratching and melt on heating
